Why Hot Cars are so Deadly

Why Hot Cars are so Deadly Why Hot Cars are so Deadly I heard this story on NPR the other day and it hearkened back to my days of growing up in Arizona. Every year, it seemed, there was a child that died because they were either left in a hot car or because they went into one on their own. I have been very paranoid about that with my own kids. I would say "let's go" and they'd go out to the car and sit there with the doors closed! After numerous lectures on how the temperature goes up quickly and how many children have died sitting in hot cars, most of my children now go out to the car and leave the door open. Colorado doesn't get quite as hot as Arizona (today the high is only supposed to be 75) but if you instill a habit in your children early, it can protect them from a fatal mistake on one of those fluke hot summer days. You do not want to let your kids sit an oven during the summer! Be prepared.

He reads these books so entertainingly that I am in hysterics driving down the road with kids. It's like listening to a few hours of comedy. I actually prefer the audiobooks over the actual book, but, as my kids point out, the books add a lot to the funniness of the books. If you ca...
